The Number option gives your customers a numeric input — perfect for things like the number of candles on a cake, weight in pounds, age, jersey number or any quantity-based add-on. You can set minimum and maximum values, and charge an optional add-on price.
To set up the Number option, follow these steps:
>> Go to the MultiVariants dashboard, open an existing ruleset (or create a new one), open the Product Options tab at the bottom, and click “+ Add option“.
>> Select Number and click Add option.
>> Configure the fields you need — only the ones you fill in will apply, the rest stay optional:
- Option title — what the customer sees, e.g. “Number of candles”.
- Short description — optional one-liner for context, shown near the option title.
- Placeholder text — sample text shown inside the empty input, e.g. “Enter quantity”.
- Help text — optional helper line below the input.
- Minimum value — the smallest number the customer can enter.
- Maximum value — the largest number the customer can enter.
- Price — add-on price applied when the customer fills in this option.
- Required — set to Yes if the customer must enter a number to check out.
- Display on each variant — leave unchecked to show one input at the top of the bulk-order section, shared across all variants. Check it to repeat the input under each variant row.
>> Click Save in the top save bar.
Your Number option is now live on every product the ruleset applies to. You can also add more options by clicking the + Add more options button, and adjust the design and placement of the option by following the steps below.
>> To add another option, click + Add more options at the bottom.
>> To choose where the Number option appears on the product page, click the small gear icon at the top of the Product Options tab, select Above or Below MultiVariants listing, and click Save changes.
>> To restyle the Number option, click the gear icon at the top right of the option card and adjust border colors, background, text color, and border radius. Click Customize to apply.
