Shopify has introduced a new regulation that every app that works on the product page must work through the app block. Previously, this was done by script tag. But Shopify has decided to obsolete the Script tag system and introduce an app block. As this is a Shopify rule, every app must follow it. Thus, we have brought the update. By mid-2025, an app that doesn’t follow the app block system will be discontinued from Shopify.
To add MultiVariants app block, there are 2 ways.
1st way:
Follow these steps:
If you click on your ruleset, you will see a notification, where it says that you need to add your app block. In that notification, you just need to click this button “Add app block now” . And your App block will be added.
2nd way:
Follow these steps:
>Go to themes.
>Click on “Customize”.
>From the drop-down on the top, click on the product page.
>Choose the template.
Now add MultiVariants.
If you have multiple templates that are using MultiVariants, add app blocks to each of them individually.
